About the WIN Project

The WIN (Work Initiative Northside) project is based in the ReCreate Centre at Eason's Hill, Shandon (formerly at Northside Community Enterprises, Farranferris).  We have been proudly running with great success for the past 13 years delivering QQI Level 4 modules to Cork community members of all ages that are interested in enhancing their existing skills, returning to the workforce or furthering their education.

Training focuses on skills that are valuable and sought after in the workplace. The course offers support through one-on-one help and guidance in a relaxed atmosphere with a strong emphasis on progression.

Our course has adapted throughout the years to meet the changing needs of the locality and the jobs market, offering a diverse range of subjects and awards.

The Level 4 qualification we offer is ideal for anyone considering progression onto further education at the 5th level or entry into the workforce. Work placements form an important part of the course, making sure that participants get valuable experience in a professional environment.

A few words from previous Students

Silvia, WIN 2020

This office skills course was one of the best choices I have embraced. It was all about learning, improving skills and focusing on the goals I set for my professional future. The support from the tutors and the outcome were amazingly rewarding and a steppingstone for the next step : an office job with Great Skills.

Hayley, WIN 2019

If anyone on the course says they don't know how to do algebra, trust me, you soon will. I've never got my head around Algebra until I was on the course. X

Pat, WIN 2020

I had the privilege of studying on the I.T and Office Skills course from November '19 to August '20. This extensive course was more than just what the title suggests as it incorporated dynamic and different ways on how to study. I found it an enlightening experience and although set in my ways, it opened my eyes on how to get the maximum input/output from learning in a more positive manner, with super results!
